Then take a musical tour with your guide Andrew Grams and discover the delightful Petrushka (1947), Igor Stravinsky's ballet about three puppets, brought to life by a magician, who experience the very human emotions of love, passion & jealousy. Perfect for classical music beginners & connoisseurs alike, these casual and relaxed presentations use musical excerpts performed by ESO musicians, combined with visuals, to embark on an in-depth journey into classical masterworks.
After intermission the ESO will play the entire piece with the audience having gained new-found insight into what makes the work so special.

For over 65 years, the sweet sound of the Elgin Symphony Orchestra has delighted area music lovers. As a premier regional orchestra, the group attracts listeners from over 100 communities. The Elgin Symphony Orchestra has won the Illinois Professional Orchestra of the Year award an unprecedented four times - including 2016.
The Orchestra`s season includes over 50 concerts annually (Classics, Pops, Educational Programming, and Holiday performances) at the 1,200-seat Hemmens Theatre in Elgin and the 440-seat Prairie Arts Center in Schaumburg.
